Drive deep into the Merzouga and its Erg desert across the Atlas Mountains on this 4-
DAY 1 : MARRAKECH – AIT BENHADDOU – OUARZAZATE – VALLEY OF ROSES – DADES GORGES
Our departure from Marrakech is a 8 am. In order to reach the Atlas Mountains, from Marrakech. We will enjoy scenic road, beautiful landscapes with different colours and Berber villages along the way. Your first stop will be ‘Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah’ classified since 1987 by UNESCO. Of all the remaining Kasbahs in Morocco, the walls and interior of this area are the most intact. Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah has been used in many film and television productions like Gladiator, Laurence of Arabia, Kingdom of Heaven, Games of Thrones, etc.. Then you will head to Ouarzazate and you will have free time to visit the old Kasbah of Ouarzazate “Taourirt Kasbah”. Then, you will hit the road towards the Roses Valley, through the Skoura palm grove to the Dades Valley. You will arrive at Dades Gorges around 5 p.m. where you will have dinner and spend the first night in a typical Moroccan riad.
DAY 2: DADES GORGE – TODRA GORGES – MERZOUGA
After breakfast, take a walk through the Dades Gorges, and then climb back in the car to drive the road of the 1000 Kasbahs, passing through Tineghier village, and the Jewish Kasbah, arriving at the Todra Gorges . Next take a walk in the Gorges before taking the road to the Merzouga desert by way of Erfoud arriving before sunset. From you’ll arrive at the hotel to stay overnight and have dinner and enjoy the Sahara dunes.
DAY 3: ERG CHEBBI DESERT EXCURSION AND CAMEL RIDE
Following an early-morning stroll before breakfast to enjoy sunrise among the sand dunes (optional), ride your camel back to After breakfast and rest spend approximately half of the day in the desert to seeing the different faces of the desert, passing through small villages, and stop to listen to some Saharan Music in El Khamlia, the oasis. Take a short visit to Rissani, including some historical Kasbahs, and the the famous market. Next we take a 4×4 to the Desert. Next rest meet your guide and who will have camelswaiting to carry you across the sandy dunes of the Erg Chebbi. You’ll enjoy the beauty of the sunset on camel, after an hour you’ll reach the desert camp and spend the night in a Berber camp. At your desert shelter, your camels are hobbled and mint tea is served. After a wonderful dinner, you can watch the stars, and an overnight experience spent in a Berber Tent.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGES – OUARZAZATE
Get up early, to watch the sunrise then we take camel back to the hotel .after shower, You’ll depart for Ouarzazate , travelling the rugged Road of a Thousand Kasbahs that rise up like turreted sand castles along this ancient caravan trading route. This area has long been a popular location for Hollywood films such as The Last Temptation of Christ, Jewel of the Nile, and most recently Hideous Kinky. The central region is one of the most exciting and romantic destinations of Morocco nestled along rich river valleys, palmeries .,Break for lunch & walk in Todra gorges , We’ll travel through the Dadès Valley past dramatic escarpments. Dinner & overnight in local riad.
DAY 5: OUARZAZATE – AIT BENHADDOU – MARRAKECH.
After breakfast, we head to Ouarzazate where you can visit the film studios, where you can travel along the huge history of filmmaking industry in Africa’s Hollywood; Ouarzazate; We drive towards Marrakesh via Tizi N’Tichka passing through the high Atlas Mountains where we will have time to stop and enjoy impressive landscapes and Berber hamlets, and make a break for lunch.
